Press Operator

Our client, a leading Print Manufacturer is currently seeking a Press No 2 Operator to join their team.

The Press No 2 Operator will be responsible for assisting the No 1 press minder printing both colour and mono jobs from fixed and variable formats. It is his/her responsibility to make all printing resources available for the No1, to ensure the best quality job is produced at all times whilst adhering to ISO standards.

Good communication skills are essential at all levels of the organisation and externally. You will liaise with the Production Manager, your team and other departments to ensure good communications and smooth progress of work through the company. A strong awareness to meet client deadlines and quality expectations must be observed at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work within estimated press times on the job bag specification
Minimise waste of labour time and materials and maximise quality at all times
Be responsible for the loading and unloading of paper on the press.
Ensure that every aspect of work is captured on the Intranet Data Capture system
Maintain and clean press on a daily basis as per press checklist and maintenance schedules. Document and file service schedules and ensure machinery is kept in good working order
Booking in of press consumables, mixing inks when required & loading inks on press
Meet the deadlines set by the works list and the job bag
Make sure that you follow all the procedures relevant to your job stringently, concentrating on utilising all the technology available
Communicate any work improvement ideas that you have to the Production Director during the department update monthly meetings
Ensure the smooth hand-over of jobs and workloads to the following shift and to the finishing department communicating any potential issues
Liase with pre press and finishing departments to ensure smooth flow of work and maximum quality on all jobs
Any other duties as required by your manager

Requirements:
Previous press room experience as a No 2 – (a minimum of 1 year experience within the print industry) is essential.
Proven track record of KPI delivery
Proven experience of operating multiple Heidelberg presses (To include: Heidelberg XL75 & XL105)
Good verbal and written communication
Excellent & efficient organisational skills
Problem Solving
Working under pressure and to tight timescales
Flexibility and commitment

Hours:
8am till 4pm. If the night shift is required a shift premium will be applicable.

GRP Repair

We are currently hunting for a GRP Repairer for our client, based on the outskirts of Plymouth.

Hours:
39 hours per week Monday to Friday 07.30am – 16.30pm (Monday – Thursday 07.30am – 12.30pm Friday)

Salary and Benefits:
Variable rate of pay depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 – 2 years within a GRP Repair role and ideally come from a boat building environment however those with a background in Car Body Repairs will be considered.

Duties to include:
- Working as part of a team, you will be expected to fill, buff and polish.
- Working through grades of paper, correct use of catalyst, finishing and waxing.
- Minor split work, small distortion repairs, breakout repairs and use of basic laminating skills.
- Colour repairs, major split work, large distortion repairs, forming profiles and shapes, seam bending.

Requirements:
- Familiar with small hand tools, die grinders and DA sanders
- Proficient with colour repairs, minor mould repairs, starcracks repair, blending repairs.
- Ideally you will have worked within a manufacturing environment or have the ability to do so.
- A willingness to work hard both as a team and without guidance.

This role is initially offered on a 12 month contract with a standard 3 month probation. Following your probation bonuses are available subject to meeting required standards. Candidates successful during their first 12 months will be awarded a permanent contract.

We are currently seeking a Stores Person for the Retail Sales division of an Agricultural company in Trerulefoot.
Requirements:

Laminator

We are currently hunting for a Laminator for our client, based on the outskirts of Plymouth.

Hours:
39 hours per week Monday to Friday 07.30am – 16.30pm (Monday – Thursday 07.30am – 12.30pm Friday)

Salary and Benefits:
Variable rate of pay depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity.

Duties to include:
- Prepare mould for wet lay-up,
- Release agent application, material identification, catalysation,
- Apply basic gel coat, use basic laminating skills.
- Identify basic laminating defects.
- Understand basic lay-up drawings,
- Use of core materials and generic bonding pastes, fitting of plants, aligning split moulds, release of simple moulds, use and control of patterns and jigs.
- Work unassisted on basic moulds and able to assist in structural complex moulds. Basic mould repairs using repair filler.

Requirements:
- Fusion experience preferable.
- Capable of using full range of GRP materials.
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Must be capable of working without guidance and contributing to team workload.
- Ability to be flexible and prioritise workload
- Excellent attention to detail and finish
- Proven record to be able to work in challenging working conditions, lifting, kneeling in confined spaces and moving material in awkward locations.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Able to resolve problems under own initiative

Paint Sprayer / French Polisher

We are hunting for Paint Sprayers / French Polishers for a permanent position on the outskirts of Plymouth.

Hours:
39 hours per week Monday to Friday 07.30am – 16.30pm (Monday – Thursday 07.30am – 12.30pm Friday)

Salary and Benefits:
Variable rate of pay depending on experience, plus potential of bonus opportunity.

You will have previous experience as a paint sprayer, ideally with lacquer repair, French polishing, finishing, detailing and vinyl experience.
